During the Advanced Institute, teacher consultants gather for one week in the summer to explore topics in writing and learning. A fellow teacher consultant facilitates the group's inquiry.
The Advanced Institute offers an opportunity for TCs to reconnect with each other and to continue the professional growth that began with Summer Institute. Advanced Institute is a place for rejuvenation, camaraderie, reflection, growth, and fun.
In the past we have offered Advanced Institutes on special topics, such as working with struggling writers, creating curriculum for writing workshop, become a teacher leader, and teaching with technology.
The Advanced Institute is open to any Teacher Consultant who has completed the Invitational Summer Institute. The institute is "advanced" because all participants share a common Writing Project experience.
